Day 5 - Nevada Desert

138 miles (100 offroad), 10.5 hours. Raw-camped on a hill above the desert plains (***).

From Lakeview we rode out of Oregon into the Nevada desert.

It was an amazingly eventful day. We started with cows with cowboys in Oregon; crossed the Nevada state line, saw Elk, desert rabbits, hawks, antelope, and an epic double rainbow. We climbed a crazy lunar ash hill in the desert. Jon did his first water crossing and had 4 spills (1 flat tire, 1 big berm, 1 sand pit, 1 plain exhaustion). We completed an on-the-trail tire change, watched lightening and a sunset. Then did some night riding on a dirt trail, to camp at 6100 ft.
